Joe, been out of the Woodcraft loop for a while and just getting back into it again after a 3 month hiatus in the hospital. To answer your question regarding American Woodshop episodes, yes, Scott posts additional season episodes per PBS rules of timing. Once a certain amount of time goes by (and I am not sure what that time period is) he can post these newer episodes. Just keep logging into that site: http://www.wbgu.org/americanwoodshop/seasons.html. The American Woodshop is also on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/theamericanwoodshop/.

    JoelK,

    Thank you!

Sounds like you have lived here in Calif. at one time… Where did you live?

Yes, I know what you mean about affording to live here… Our wonderful sunny State is getting flushed down the crapper… like much of our nation… I wish they'd wipe the slate clean & start over with a MORE CONSERVATIVE legislature.

    Oh well… I can dream, can't I?

    Hi Joe,
I did finally get the machine completed and it seems to be working much better now that I have worked all the kinks out of it, or at least I think I have. I made a sign/plaque recently I will put some pics of the machine and the plaque I made. I am trying to get a touch probe to work so I can start tracing some parts and making duplicates of them in the near future. It's been a little more difficult than I expected but I think I may have it figured out. I will also post some images or files of the first 3d scan I do after that is completed as well.
How are you doing ? its been a while hope things are going well in sunny California, I do miss it but can't afford to move back unfortunately.

    >>I just noticed what looks to be "aluminum angle" used as drawer Pulls…
    >>Is that what I am seeing?
    >>What a C O O L & classy way to get a Pull!

    Thank you!

That's what they are. I just cut a little rabbet and screwed them down. I was looking at a piece of angle aluminum and thought they would make "tool box" looking pulls. It has been a while since I built that bench and it has gotten a lot of good use. I am considering replacing the top with a "real" workbench top. I have been getting into hand tools a bit more and a tail vice would be nice!

I guess you really distinguished a wood from an iron. As for ww.com, I know what you mean. Remember the I'll Kick Your A$$ thread. That was probably the start of it. Man, that one was fun.

Too bad about your friend. Is that the guy in the avatar with you? As for me, been doing a lot of remodeling on my own house. Puttin' in new windows, tearing out ceilings, insulating and puttin' up new ceiling tiles. Now I know what Michaelangelo went through on the Chapel ceiling. I also gotta install a new front door. Couldn't buy a pre-hung, because the existing transom is the headrail for my door. So I just bought a Fir door with glass fan lites. Man that baby is heavy. I remember doing a lot of doors in the 70's and 80's and they were a lot lighter then - ha, ha, ha.

I cut the first dining table I ever made (in the 70's) longwise and took out about 16" in the middle to make a sewing table for LOML, and put casters on it. It's basically an Oak Parsons design. I've been using it for about 30 years, and LOML decided we should get a new dining set> I said "I'll make it". She said " NO, we will just go and buy one". Can you imagine me going to a furniture store and buying a wood dining room set - WHOOO-BOY. Times are a changing. Really though, I've got too much to do to build a set. I'd probably be 115 yrs old by the time I finished and wouldn't have an appetite at that age.

Anyway it's good to hear from you again, and congrats on the Modship. I'll have to stop in.

I guess us geezers have to pace ourselves. I know what you mean about the aches the next day. Good thing our minds are still young. BTW, what happened to your posts, I think on ww.com. Did you check out and sign back up? What's your latest projects? Any woodworking going on?
