« Part 12: Ankers Part 13 of Spinnekop (windmill) series Part 14: Veldkruisen en regels »

I mixed up my post so #13 and #14 are not in chronological order

This mill has a concrete base and brick stone walls. According to annotations on the drawing the mill wasn’t built like this. It had a stone foundation and the screw housing was made of wood. I will be making my model like this.

starting with meranti. It’s almost the color of brickwork.

Using the CNC to make a brick pattern on the wood

Parts of the wall have arche

Cutting the bevels

Test fitting the parts

Fitting nice together

After the bandsaw sanding the parts flush

Gluing the parts together

Testing the fit

The walls of the “waterloop”, the part of the mill where the water that was pumped will exit

Adding mortises.

Some finishing details

Gluing it all togheter

The lower parts of the foundations glued

Adding a dowel

And a hole in the pillar so they can be connected together but still be detachable

Progress so far
