Making cutting boards in bulk. - 2 replies

Hello fellow woodworkers, I need to make 50 end grain cheese boards/small cutting boards. They will be 8”x12”x1/2”thick so quite thin. How would you cut a handle into a cutting board. - 7 replies

I’ve built a few cutting boards and would like to create a recess on the underside for easy handling. Im just not sure how to do it and would appreciate any suggestions. Below is an image of the type of recess im trying to create.

I’d like to buy this table on craigslist but I want to verify the type of wood first. If its a nicer type like walnut or mahogany then the $50 is worth it. Im going to cut it up and make two cutting boards to give as house warming presents.

Butchers Block Construction - 1 reply

I just finished cutting some of my wood to size for a 24”x40” end grain cuttingboard/butchers block I’m building. Does anyone know what kind of wood the brownish red stuff is? Also, my planer recently stopped feeding wood through. Would anyone be able to suggest why this is? Jeremy
