Well I don't have a permanent shop but I make do with what I have.
Every machine I own has a story behind it!!
Seems like most of my nice pieces go away as gifts but I do enjoy seeing others appreciate my creations!
Woodworking is one of many (too many?) hobbies...
Cycling (the pedal kind) photography, hunting, fishing, two daughters....the list goes on!!
I tend to be somewhat of a purist in that I generally will not stain a wood to a different color. If I need a dark wood....I use a dark wood....need a light wood....use a light wood etc...
I will do what I need to do in order to make a particular species like curly maple or QSWO grain "pop" as much as possible but I really enjoy using contrasting woods together on a project, and let the woods speak for themselves.

Welcome to Lumberjocks. The projects are an inspiration, the information is priceless and the people are supportive. The only problem is, the site can get addictive.

God Bless

I followed grizzman here. Want more information. If your chest is an indication of what you’re building, you sincerely need to post more!

The table looks fantastic. Your comment about the contrast of the sapwood, is one I can agree with. Having looked at a couple other projects of yours, I can see you are talented, and have an eye for scale and design.

Here’s what I really must know: Is your name really Jean Valjean? I have claimed that name in song a time or two. ;-)

I’m thinking I’ll change my screen name to 24601.

Good Morning Buckethead….nice name!!!
No that is not my real name…..Jean Valjean is a character from the movie/Musical Les Miserables….as you must be aware since you referenced his prisoner number..
I have always thought of him as a man of character and honor so I have no problem taking his name as a screen name….

What must really be interesting though is the story behind the name “Buckethead”!!!

Thanks for the response!

My name… Well… I have this head… It is (apparently) somewhat shaped/sized like a bucket. My friends gave the name to me many moons ago. I adopted it to prove that my feelings weren’t hurt. (Very manly of me)
