I caught the woodworking bug in 2007 and have tried to keep something on the bench or lathe ever since.
I was fortunate enough to have been introduced to woodworking by my father. His passion for the craft and his attention to detail are what I hope to carry on from him. After his passing in 2007, I inheirited several pieces of his equipment and lots of his hand tools. I had no formal training other than the few projects that we had completed together. I am lucky enough to have a community college near me with an excellent woodworking program. This has enabled me to gain some confidence with the equipment in the shop and has allowed me access to equipment that I either can't afford right now - or might not otherwise have in a home workshop.
I have visited this site quite frequently prior to joining and have gained a ton of insight from the members here. I have been blown away by the positive nature of the message boards and by some of the feedback and experience that most of the members here share. I hope to begin sharing my experience (both good and bad) with the members here at lumberjocks and hopefully we can all continue to learn from one another... ...because I definitely have much more to learn.

Welcome to Lumber Jocks! This is a great place to get – or give – advice about woodworking on the forums and the project posts are a wonderful source of new ideas. I look forward to seeing your projects and posts.
To get the most feedback on your projects, it’s best to only post 1 or 2 at a time. This way you will get feedback over several days and from a wide variety of members.
Please enjoy your membership.

Welcome to Lumberjocks. The projects are an inspiration, the information is priceless and the people are supportive. The only problem is, the site can get addictive.
God Bless

Hi there,
Welcome to LumberJocks… I joined the site myself a few months ago and will give you fair warning, this site is VERY ADDICTIVE, VERY EDUCATIONAL, and VERY FUN…. so sit back, enjoy the ride and learn from the other LJ’s as they are a group of extremely talented people that are also very friendly…
Enjoy your time here on LJ and pass the word to any of your woodworking buddies about us…
