Part 1: The Chassis

03-25-2019 12:09 AM by Jason1974 | 18 comments »

Gents, so I decided to start another project. I had a huge chuck of cherry on my wood carts so I decided to mill it down and make something with it. Haven’t decided what other woods to use but I think I’m going to make the wheels out of walnut for the tyres and maple for the rims. I also have a small chunk of bloodwood I would like to incorporate into the build. Maybe I’ll use it for the seats. ............. Thanks for watching!!!.

Part 2: The Fenders

Well gents, here is my progress so far. The fenders were not to bad to make. getting the grooves cut out for the headlights was a pain in the butt considering I suck at using a chisel. I used my disc sander to make everything straight and flush before I made the rounded curve on the top of the fender. Now off to the next part. ...........................THANKS FOR WATCHING!!!

Part 3: The Seats

Here is my version of the seats for the Hummer. Instead of making it out of one piece of wood, I divided it into 4 sections and placed a 1/8” roundover on the sides and glued them back together. The seats are made out of Walnut. I got the idea from the seats from Dutchy’s Buick build. I like that design in the seats.........................Thanks for watching!

Part 4: Side & Back Panels

04-12-2019 11:24 AM by Jason1974 | 10 comments »

Here’s another update for you guys. I used a 1/16” straight router bit for the kerfs and I made a template for making the kerfs for the doors and windows. I am going to put the gas cap in a different location. I want my model to have different features than T&J’s.........................Thanks for watching!

Well I spent the whole weekend perfecting the tires or shall I say Tyres for some of you, lol. Anyways, like is said I spent the whole weekend working on the tires. I didn’t expect for the to be so huge but they look freaking cool. I used 1/8” dowels for the lugs. ........................Thanks For Watching!

Part 6: Details And Bringing It Together!

04-16-2019 06:01 PM by Jason1974 | 14 comments »

This is my favorite part of the build! The Details… I have been thinking about how I wanted to do the detail on the dash. I think I did a pretty good job. It’s amazing to much things slow down when you are getting to the end of the build. It’s also the scariest hoping everything fits together and looks good. ....................................Thanks For Watching!!!
