no previous part Part 1 of Hand saw life series no next part

Hello Lumberjocks! Long time lurker, first post. I love this site, and have learned a lot following the different forums and projects.

I had acquired a No.7 Disston 26” handsaw, well used, in ~10 ppi crosscut configuration. The handle was incorrect, with missing hardware. I decided to try to make a handle, but with a very limited budget I laminated some pallet wood oak. I downloaded a template for a No.7 handle, and a friend cut it out on his band saw a few months ago. I finally finished the fettling/sanding/finishing and assembled it today. Not having the appropriate saw nuts & bolts, I made a medallion from brass bar stock and used furniture hardware. I may shorten the saw in the future, after I learn to sharpen it. I tried to photograph the etch but it is too faint.
