It seems that this may be one of those projects where I do everything twice. I cut out and finished a new body, the first one I mis-cut and didn’t leave enough metal for the handle. I cut out the handle from some nice mahogany and I had mis-cut it as well. Grr. Hopefully the Department of Redundancy Department will be closed down now!

The 45 degree slope on the handle, that crosses the squares on the graph paper, provides a bed for the blade. I made the handle as though, well, it just isn’t going to work so I’ll make a new handle. It’s some nice wood and it’s a shame to waste it.
