Hey guys, I’m going to be making a router cabinet for my Veritas Router Table Top I picked up on CL. I have 3/4 Birch Ply and was planing on using a single rabbet joint to join the sides to the back and I will Dado a middle shelf and the bottom to the sides. So the rabbets will be in the side panels. Being plywood I don’t se...

I plan on using 3/4” ply and I will be fitting the Veritas steel table to it and the fence is a Bench Dog fence. I got this from a garage sale for a good pric...

Diamond Stones (Continuous Sharpening Stone) - 3 replies

I currently have a Norton 250 8×3 waterstone and Nainawa 1000-3000 grit. I use the Veritas jig for my chisels. I’m contemplating a course and medium grit diamond continuous stone. I wanted to see how these things hold up versus the other DMT versions that have the grid pattern and color coated? Is there a preference in use and...

First attempt - Thru Mortise (I stink at it) - 7 replies

So I attempted a thru mortise in some 3/4 red oak. I made a 5/16” tenon and used my dual wheel marking gage to mark out the mortise. I chopped the mortise using a 5/16” mortise chisel. I attacked it from both sides, which is hard to screw up on 3/4” stock. The problem came when cleaning up the mortise with a bevel chisel. ...
