JB45's Workshop

Green Bay, WI
United States

Well my workshop is just a small little room in my basement. I was working in my garage but once you experience a Wisconsin winter working in an unheated garage, my bar room quickly became a wood shop. There is still lots to do but at least it’s warm. I have a miter saw, table saw, band saw, scroll saw, and a belt/disc sander for floor and bench tools. I have recently been using more hand tools as I enjoy the quietness and less stress than power tools, plus there is less dust. Plus, there is the cool nostalgic feeling you get from using vintage hand tools.

Welcome to LJ’s. Your situation is opposite of my own. My shop was in the warm cellar. The dust, noise clutter, and other negatives forced my relocation to the garage. I installed heat, telephone, tv, and other items that made my shop a true man cave. Best of all, I am under no pressure to clean it up and straighten it out by the SOW (security of war). However, any place you can go to do your thing is valuable.

A wood shop AND a bar room . . . sounds like the a good multi-functional arrangement. Just don’t use the sharp stuff when you break out the wet stuff.

Ohio winters aren’t great in the garage either. Great use of your space
