My workshop is my two car garage. Nothing fancy yet. It is a work in progress. Right now I am working on wiring the garage for power. This past weekend (4/12/08) we demoed the garage, pulling down all the existing, full of holes from previous owners, sheetrock. It is a complete mess. A few pics of the mess. Updates as they happen.
I have a Craftsman OR35505 10-Inch Tablesaw. I bought the saw on black friday and got a great deal on it. This is a great saw for the money. Easy to set up, even for a beginner. It passes the nickle test on startup, even on 110v. Haven’t cut any hardwood on it yet, but will let you know.
I have a Craftsman 6 1/8 Inch Jointer, which I haven’t used yet. I got it for $100 on craigslist.org. Looking forward to using it soon. WORKS great!
I have a GMC 10” sliding compound miter saw. It was cheap and got good reviews. It has been nothing but good to me and I have gotten great use out of it. Cuts strait evey time. I put a 60 tooth Diablo blade on it and it cuts even better.
(5/21/08) I recently received as a gift a Craftsman 12” Benchtop drill press. I LOVE this thing. Not sure how I lived without it before. Has a nice laser site that works great once it is dialed in. And the digital depth gauge is nice.
My dad recently made a visit and we added three seperate power circuits to the workshop. What a great time saver this makes. No more extension cords. Now to get the walls insulated and sheetrocked. At the moment the shop is a complete mess, though I did find the time and work space to build a place to hang all the tape in the house. It’s sitting on the drill press in the pic. More updates coming soon.
(9/3/08) I can’t believe it’s been this long since I have updated this. Been a crazy busy summer at work so NO time in the shop. Still bare walls. I did receive as a gift from the wife a new planer. Got the new Ridgid 3 blade planer. Still learning how to use it in conjunction with my jointer. Practicing with scraps before I decide to use it with some nice wood. Hopefully work will slow down soon and I can add the insulation and sheetrock.
