Hi all….I started cutting on an 800 pound log in October and then let it rest and re-equalize the moisture for 3 1/2 months. The last 3 days have been a concerted effort to finish, and it is shaped down to about 275 pounds.

A chainsaw with a 16” bar did most of the initial shaping. Since then, a host of tools from the dark corners of my shop came into play…

Hey Andrew

That is what I would call a good start. It will be interesting to watch.

Morning George…..

I haven’t been posting online for awhile and have been making many first time objects, like this chair. Yesterday I finished the 5 days of sanding and sprayed it with some Super Blond shellac…

When Woodcraft opens at 10:00 I’ll be there to pick up some Waterlox original for the finish coat..

Awesome, just a bear to move it from place to place.
