Another End Grain Board Build.....

I’ve seen people posting boards with diamonds and thought that was cool…..I built a diamond board a few weeks ago HERE... and I just finished this one today: So this blogs covers today’s board… For a change, I started with some nice wide timber. I want to thank all of you that have read my blog and encouraged me along the way. You provided some valuable advice. I have acquired some new skills and have thoroughly enjoyed it. The dresser is made from quarter-sawn sycamore on the exterior and red oak on the non visible pieces. It is solid wood construction except for the plywood back and plywood drawer bottoms. I dovetailed the drawers and used wooden drawer slides from Rockler. To finish it, I used a coat of Transtint amber ...

Rationale: I aspire to blend hand tools and power tools. So—I needed a wooden mallet and “practice with a purpose.” This is only my third project in my shop. Right now I am keeping my projects small until I have and inkling of skill and efficiency.
