We make quite a few boxes in our shop; it is quite a bit of our bread-and-butter.

We do this very well already, but always on the lookout for ways to make our customers’ products more dazzling as well as our shoptime more efficient.

When we first saw the dovetail spline making jig system available from, we were quite excited to test it out.

Splined boxes have been here for awhile, so we were more excited at the idea of streamlining the process itself.

That, coupled with the option of making nested dovetail splines rather quickly and easily sounded very appealling.

We ordered this product in mid-January 2017, and to keep costs down, we’d contain our excitement until the 5-10 business days for (free) shipping had passed.

I guess our problem started when we told our customers we’d begin delivering completed nested dovetailed spline boxes by April. We catch on VERY quickly, and believed the learning curve might max out at around 2-3 days.

We never dreamed Infinity Tools would keep delaying the shipping date further and further and further out. It now stands at mid April.

I guess I can’t help but feel this company has somehow done us a disservice by not being more forthcoming on their website and posting these delays more accurately. We had to keep after them just to get new availability info.

Not cool.
Very disappointed so far.

We will post a review if InfinityTools ever does ship this product to us.

(Hopefully maybe Christmas?)

As I recall, there was a similar thread about Infinity Tools missing shipping and being REALLY slow. Consensus of that thread was the customer service and shipping reviews are as important as product reviews so the community knows about these kinds of problems.

Any idea why the delay keep pushing out?

Good question Earl.

When we first contacted their customer service line, they confirmed availability, so we went ahead and placed the order for the deluxe (complete) package.

After the proposed delivery date came and went (+3!) we recontacted and the excuses began to, um, “smell”.

After several sequential delays, I STILL couldn’t get a straight answer from any of the customer (dis)service lines.

I suspect that, since this product is available less than a year, there are still some unresolved kinks in the parts supply/distribution channels from beloved “Asia”.

Our main beef has been: since they’re primarily an online company, simply updating availability dates for their products on a website is not JUST a good idea…. it’s pretty quick and easy to do, and more importantly shows respect for their customers’ and THEIR commitments.

That this company doesn’t do that is a bit annoying.

Not having inventory to sell and ship is a frequent, common signal that a business is in a cash flow crisis. Getting customers to pay well in advance of delivery is a cash management tool.

That’s our suspicion as well, but while that practice might be legal… it’s far from ethical.

Not a new product for them by any means but I ordered a router table system from them in early JAN and the first email stated that due to high demand their was a 3-5 week backlog. It shipped yesterday, almost 5 weeks to the day. Honestly I think they were caught completely unaware by the volume of orders from their DEC sale.

Geez, not sure which is depressing us more – that this isn’t just happening to us, or that it seems to be happening with folks buying longer established items as well from Infinity Tools.
Guess it’s about even.
