Not-so-Stair Saw

I need to know how to get ahold of Tom Fidgen, Christopher Schwarz, Roy Underhill, ... uh… and Mark from Bad Axe Tool Works? And probably the guys from Two Guys in a Garage Toolworks all at the same time.

Here’s the problem. I’ve been working on this stair/rabbet/dado saw project for like a year. It was supposed to be this wonderful multipurpose tool that I could use for anything from grooving bookshelves to making raised panels. I bought this great piece of mahogany cutoff in December ‘14. I ordered the saw plates from TGIAG in January, and Chicago screws from Lee Valley at the same time.

I got a free bandsaw, a 12” Craftsman, from a friend. I’ve spent the past two months rebuilding it, so I could use it to resaw the mahogany and cut out the body.

I went out to the garage today, to get the piece of mahogany, to trace the outline of the body onto it.

I left it sitting on the hood of my mother’s car. It was still there when she went to church this morning. I drove halfway to church looking for it. No sign of it.

The saw plates? Also gone.

Handworks is in less than two weeks. That stair saw was supposed to be my entre into the world of high-end woodworking. Something so that people in a position to help me would remember my name. Something to make an impression. Now it’s gone, and I have nothing. I couldn’t replace the parts in time, even if I had the money, and I don’t.

-- I have some idea what I'm doing.

Maybe Mom saw it on the hood when she got in to the car and put in the back seat ????
Sorry for the loss, but let me say this, if I ever put anything on my wife’s hood, she would rip my ears off.
Maybe Mom set them aside to teach you a lesson … Mom’s are like that, ... Yeah, they are.

I sure hope you find it.
