Well, what a way to start the new year. My son and his girlfriend had a baby girl at 10:20 this morning. 7lbs, 13oz. They have named her Rylee Ann.
But it strikes me that even after the all the denial (I’m too young, he’s too young, etc.) I am still thrilled to have her come into the world. I look forward to spoiling her rotten. I look forward to the little girl tea parties, build her doll houses, and just having the joy of a young child around and seeing them explore the world.
Now hopefully I can get some shop time soon and make her something special. I’ll be at the Baltimore Woodworking show and look forward to meeting up with other LJ’s there…I may even bring some cigars :-)

Greg, grandkids are great. you can spoil them rotten and then the parents can take them home. if we would have known how great grandkids are, we would have had them first.

Congratulations, Greg. It’s a game changer for sure. I couldn’t be happier about being a Grandpa, and I’m sure with a little girl to spoil it will be quite fun for you as well.

Congratulations, Greg. There is nothing like ‘em. I am sure you will find her to be a lot more fun than you remember her father being. :) And what an excuse to spend some time in the shop! When your wife questions you about spending some much time in there just say I am making something for Rylee Ann!!!!

I agree…they are the best. They can even be fun in the shop. And there is no end to the things that you can make for them.

That is fantastic. Congrats to all.
I get my first grandchild in March. I can not wait. I love kids.
Maybe I’ll see at the show on Saturday.
Take care,

Congratulations. they are the greatest thing you will encounter. Get ready for many new adventures. I have twin grandaughters and that is more than double the fun. I also have 3 grandsons. Something new everyday.
