Planer / Jointer knives - 2 replies

I need to get knives for my 16” double sided planer and my 12” jointer. Suggestions? I can get planer knives from Woodtek (it’s a woodtek machine) for $60 a set (of 3). The machine uses 2 sets. Shark Guard users (especially with 4" ports) come on in please! - 8 replies

I think I’m going to get the ARK setup for my new to me unisaw and will probably go with the 4” connection on the guard. My saw doesn’t have a cabinet port so I’m wondering if I’d even miss our with the 4” shark setup? Thoughts and opinions are appreciated!Thanks Grant

Worthwhile to "upgrade" from contractor saw to 1.5hp cabinet saw? - 22 replies

I’ve got a craftsman 113 saw now and it cuts great with some shortcomings – 5/4+ hardwood makes it struggle (I could try a thin kerf rip blade, currently using a full kerf marathon for ripping) and it is a chore to tilt the blade to 45, I just haven’t wanted to do a full tear down but that should be fixable.Mine has a T2 fence....
