« Part 1: Shop Project-American flag cabinet Part 2 of Working the wood series no next part

I am still working on my American flag cabinet the progress has been slow. The first thing hi have done since last time was to figure out where I needed to cut the metal part of my American flag. The first picture will be the top and the second picture will be the bottom.

You probably noticed that they were different sizes since the halfway point was in a bad spot I decided to cut it as close to the right length. I did this so that in the end I will have more stability in the doors. The next thing I did was see if the flag was the right size it wasn’t perfect but it will do. I had to bend the edges to make them the right size as you will see in the next photo.

In the future of my project, I will find some hinges to use for my joints I’m not sure what kind I am going to use yet but I will mount them to my piece of plywood, then to the top and bottom of my cabinet spaced out enough to make it strong and sturdy.

I will hope to be finished in the next couple weeks. I hope to show you the final project in my next blog.
