Hi everyone!

The reason I am writing this blog is because I am searching for a specific carpentry venue that would fit the criteria of my business, Generation Woodworks Inc. I am sure by now you know that my site gives a place for woodworkers to showcase and sell their products in a very affordable way with very little fees. I was contacted by a writer who noticed my website and wanted to write an article and pitch it magazines, but the problem is, she is having trouble finding a magazine that would fit the venue she is looking for. She doesn’t want to pitch to Fine Woodworking, or anything similar because their articles deal with techniques.

My question is… does anyone know of any magazines that would fit the venue? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You need to pitch to magazines that have nothing to do with woodworking. People that get woodworking magazines rarely buy other woodworkers products they have built. You need to market to magazines like Better Homes and Gardens, Midwest living, or HGTV Magazine. The readers of those magazines are looking for hand crafted unique items. Items that can’t be purchased at a local store.

I don’t have a specific sugestion of a magazine, but look for where others advertise for craft fairs.

Both ideas are really good!

Jesse, your craft fair suggestion may be good for vendors who aren’t that big and looking for an alternative route to market their products, and Carbide, your suggestion will be good to bring in more buyers.

I really do appreciate the advice, now just to run it buy the writer Monday Morning and convince her.

Thanks again!
