Installation of Faceframe Overlay Hinges without a face frame
I am building a large, hanging jewelry case of my own design, although I have seen similar ones for sale in catalogs. The wood is walnut and the case is 13/16” thick & 5” deep. It is approximately 16” X 50” so the door can hold a standard 12” X 48” mirror. I purchased Liberty 1 1/4” Faceframe Overlay Hinges and a 35mm forester bit to drill the proper size hole in the door frame. My mirrored door frame is also walnut 13/16” X 2 1/4” and rabbeted to hold the mirror and backing board.
