Hi L.J.’s

Not about wood but thought it was interesting. This new years eve, Thursday night is going to be a blue moon. N.Y.E. blue moons only happen every 19 years. The last one was 1990 and the next won’t be around till 2028. So when you go howling up at the moon this new years eve make sure you got your eyes open so you can see it, you never know if you’ll be around to see the next one. Hope all of you and your loved ones have a Happy and Safe new years eve, and hope next year is better than this last one.

Happy New Year, to one and all.

Gary Buck

A blue moon really means that there are 2 full moons in one month. Because the moon goes through it’s phases every 28-29 days, and we have 30-31 days/month, there has to be a compensation… so about every 2-3 yrs, we get an extra full moon in a month. It comes along “once in a blue moon” hence the name. If you extrapolate that to how often it comes on New Years Eve… well, you get about every 19-20 years!! That’s today’s lesson, boys and girls ;-) ... now everyone have a Happy New Year and spend lots of time in the shop!!!

Yeah, so celebrate the event by drinking a Blue Moon, or two, or three or ten.

My wife and I were married on the day of a blue moon. It has been a wonderful marriage for 11 years, blessed with two precious boys. I’m not suggesting any cause-effect here, just making an observation :-).

I wish you all the best for the new year.

Yea Ellen that’s pretty close to what I read on the news, it said we get a full moon every 29.5 days, we get 12/year, and a blue moon {twice/month } every 2.5 years, but landing on new years eve a blue moon is every 19 years so you was close, or you are right and they are close, or,,,, oh well it’s close enough L.O.L. Have a happy and safe one,,, I hear it turns a real dark shade of royal blue and glows but that might be a stretch L.O.L.
