Matt Ramsey

I am a Software Developer from Dacula/Auburn GA with a passion for working wood. I realized early into my Software career that I find no fulfillment making virtual things with my fingers. As such, whenever I have the chance, I make actual things with my hands. I grew up with a do-it-all father, but learned more about rough carpentry than fine woodworking. As such, I read and watch and learn, and hope to one day make pieces I'll be proud to put my name on. When my wife and kids let me have the time, that is. :)

I have a good-size basement workshop, but I'm still early into my collection of stationary tools. As such, projects are an interesting mix of compromise and stretching my ability to work with what I have. As such, I feel that I am truly learning to use and appreciate the tools I have, something I hope to keep in mind as my shop grows over time.
