Fritz_from_PA's Workshop

Allentown, PA
United States

My shop is a small space in the basement where the HVAC and hot water heater reside. It’s kind of narrow, and I often have to move things around to do something. But I finally invested in a decent dust collector and I have an air purifier. My main power tools are a Laguna table saw (pretty new), a Dewalt planer, a 6” joiner, my Dad’s old radial arm saw, and a drill press. But I like working with hand tools for most things other than stock preparation. My go-to plane is a Veritas bevel up smoothing plane that I just love, and I’ve got 3 blades for it with 25, 38 and 50 degree bevels for different tasks. It’s one sweet hand plane. Pictured on the bench is a walnut slab I’m using for a coffee table for one of my daughters.

Welcome, it sounds like you have your own little piece of heaven. Looks like you have a project ongoing with that slab on the bench. Send pics as you progress. Good Luck!

Mike, Massachusetts, I show a couple of pictures, and pose a couple of questions, in a post I put on the Skill Shares forum yesterday. It’s going to be a Walnut live edge coffee table for my daughter. My first live edge project.

Looks good. I’m in the Allentown area as well. My shop shares space with the HVAC and water heater also. Organization is key, for sure.
