« Part 7: Windows and the sprint to the finish Part 8 of Dollhouse series Part 9: Project completed! »

We got a good amount of work done today. The porch is completely done. The porch is done and shingles are done. I made a little railing for her house. I had a taller version idea, but when she tested it with her doll, she found it hard to have them “walk” and get her hand in there. So, I scaled the height down. Also, got all the windows framed out, so it is time to go inside.

My helper also built and painted a storage box for her doll stuff.

I got some exterior stuff left to do with trims and a skirt for the wheels, but for the exterior is complete. Time to move inside and trim windows, do crown and floor trims. The inside should go much faster. Outside chance I can finish and surprise her on Christmas morning, but it will be a couple of late nights.

Fantastic project. Making something for a child is the most satisfying.

I made one house for each of the six grand children (girls) and the red barn for the boy as each hit 8-9 years old. Some with plans some free hand. I’m not sure I didn’t have more fun building than the kids did playing. I hope you enjoyed yours as will the child. Good job by the way.
