Woodturning #1: First project and tool failure

So a few years back my uncle gave me a cache of benchtop woodworking tools. He gave me a lathe, a dedicated mortise machine, a drill press, a router, etc. He also gave me lathe tools. So I completed my first turning project the other day. My pencil barrel. So my next project is to make a moxon vice for my workbench out of my mini workbench. So I was going to try to turn two hand wheels last night. Well, did not go as plan. Three of my tools fell apart! :-) The ferel fell off one, and the other two simply came apart. The tang on these chisels are super short, like really short. For a tool with a foot long handle, the tang is maybe 4”. Oh well, turning is on hold for my new car...
