How can the outfeed table on a 6" Delta jointer be trued up? - 2 replies

Hello All, I know this topic was covered here already and I will continue looking for it but so far haven’t been able to find a solution. The situation is that the out feed table on my Delta jointer droops about 13/100ths of an inch so I am unable to properly joint my boards. I tried to adjust the gibs and was able to lift the table...

10 years and she still wants to keep me around!!! - 11 replies

Many of us LJ’s acknowledge how fortunate we are to have the spouses we do…that was confirmed to me again today that I am blessed with a woman that loves me, and wants me to keep hanging around doing whatever it is I do. Jen and I went on our first date 10 years ago today…I asked her to marry me at the end of that date… ...

Hey tips from LJs really work! - 17 replies

A1Jim was wondering if advice given is ever really used by some of us newer woodworkers, I am here to confirm that yes indeed some of us actually use the tips and are incredibly grateful for the more experience folks who share their wisdom and experience with us! I am slowly bumbling my way through making some cabinets (an painfully long and ...

A great day in the shop! - 6 replies

They say absence makes the heart grow fonder…it sure seems to be true about me and my shop, I’ve had very little time in it for the last several months; life and work seem to be taking up a huge amount of time lately:-( Today was great, Jen was at work, the kids were with the sitter and I had three glorious hours to putter! I cha...

Engage brain before troubleshooting router troubles! - 10 replies

Some days I wonder why they let me wander around loose. I have a Triton router which I am inordinately pleased with, and have been having a great time this first week of my vacation working on panel and frame doors for some renovations Jenn and I are doing at the house. The Triton has a very clever lock out system that will not let you start t...

Grizzly catalogue arrived! - 2 replies

After reading about Grizzly’s catalogue here on LJs I thought I’d order one also…and as kind of a joke put in a reminder in my phone on the day it was supposed to arrive. About lunchtime the alarm went off and I thought to myself “wouldn’t it be cool if my catalogue actually arrived today”. Low and behold in ...

Figuring out my Leigh Jig! - 13 replies

I couldn’t wait until Jenn got home from work, so when she phoned on her break I told her I finally figured out out to get decent dovetails out of my Leigh Jig! Please understand it is not the fault of the jig in any way shape or form, it was entirely my lack of actually reading the entire manual and my hectic work schedule that kept inte...

Its not woodworking, but at least I was in the shop! - 1 reply

Work has been crazy, and when I wasn’t working Jenn and I were doing the hardwood floors in the house so when I suddenly found myself ‘watching the kids’ (they were across the street playing with our neighbours sweet little girl whos about 3 years older then my kids) after getting home from work…outside on on a warm day I...

A rare but great time in the shop! - 5 replies

Hello All, No earth shattering news here just wanted to share the great feeling it is to actually get some shop time, time that has been extremely rare of late. I finally bought a new space heater; a 4800 watt electric, only worked my required hours at the Centre (no overtime, or volunteering as Jenn puts it, today :-). The heater brought t...

Great customer service at Lee Valley!! - 2 replies

Once again I am impressed with Lee Valley. I purchased 7 pairs of 18 inch full extension slides for the never ending bathroom renovation I am currently enduring and just today finally had a chance to start setting the drawer slides in…. and they were toooooo long. Apparently Jen’s idiot husband didn’t properly measure how b...

Happy Thanksgiving! - 6 replies

Hello All, and Happy Thanksgiving! Lumpy tablesaw surface! - 16 replies

I guess this is one of those good news bad news situations. The bad news is that I’ve discovered that the surface of my table saw table is not planar and has a couple of bulges in it. The good news it that I have developed my skills enough to notice these bumps and how they were affecting my getting a clean slip joint. So I have abandon...

Eye opener on Grizzly marketing. - 18 replies

Hello all, After reading all the positive reviews here about the Grizzly Ultimate 0555 14” bandsaw I decided to purchase one. Unparallel Dewalt 733 thickness planer! - 5 replies

Hello All, Finally got some shop time so thought I would try out my new Leigh Super Jig. First step is to dimension some wood. Fine, I get my 5 test pieces lined up joint ‘em and then run them through the planer to dimension them. One side is dead on 3/4 ” the other about 1/8 or so narrower. I was a bit annoyed, as I’d ...
