Angle cuts - 4 replies

I want to make a pencil holder for my desk. I want it to be 5” tall, but I want to make it triangle shape. I divided 180 degrees by 3 to get each end of 60 degrees. However, my table saw wont go past 45 degrees. How do I cut 3 sides at 60 degrees? I have seen some 60 degree router bits, is that what I must use to cut this?

Sand Paper - 8 replies

Anybody have some kind of plan for a cool way to keep sand paper? I have several grits from 40 grit up to 600 and it seems to be all over the place, I can’t find what I need all the time. I have seen online several kinds of sandpaper storage, but not any plans for the things I have seen. I would like to find a plan for a box or rack of som...

Saw stop Table saw - 15 replies

I am soon to buy a new Saw Stop table saw. I have gone thru their site to build my saw. I am looking at the 3hp, 220v pro model. However, I can’t decide which mobile base would be best for me. The PCS integrated, or the ICS Mobil. The ICS is $328.00, and the PCS is $i99.00. My shop is small and I end up moving my equipment a lot. So, I am ...

Delta Jointer - 4 replies

I have an older Delta Jointer that I bought at an estate sale. It work great for getting me a straight edge to work from. The only problem is that it leaves tiny wave lines in the wood, even though the edge is now flat. I don’t think that the cutter head is spinning fast enough. I don’t know if the pulleys are the correct ones, or if...

My Excalibur scrollsaw - 1 reply

I have an Excalibur scroll saw. I just bought it because the head turns to angles instead of the saw table. I like that feature. It joins the Hegner, and the Dewalt scroll saws I already own. Blade changes on my Hegner, and DeWalt are easy. But the blade changes on my Excalibur are difficult. It is hard to get the blade in the bottom clamp. Does...

18 volt batteries - 10 replies

I have a Bosch 18 volt 4 tool kit. They don’t work as well as they once did. So I thought that I might buy a new set, maybe a lithium Ion set. Then I saw the price. So I thought that I might buy new 18 volt batteries for my set. As I was looking online I see that there is one 18v 1.5 Ah, and there is another 18v 3.0 Ah. What is the differe...

What about sawstop tablesaw? - 26 replies

I am looking to upgrade my table saw. I am looking at Saw stop. I am told that the way it works is that a small electrical current runs through the blade, and if that current is broken (by your finger coming in contact with the blade). the saw stops FAST. My question is that the current is running through the saw while it’s running. But wh...

Looking for tea light stems - 0 replies

Does anyone know where I can get the metal stems that will hold a tea light like the ones picture here? I guess that I could use wood dowel glued to round pieces that I drill for candle size, then spray paint with a “metal look” paint. But I was hoping to find a supplier that sell them in bulk.

Wood weekend with wood - 0 replies

I got an E-mail about Wood magazine’s weekend with wood 2017. It’s in May 2017 in Des Monies, Iowa, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday ending at 12:00. There are going to be lots of classes offered there. I was thinking about registering to go. Then I started to add the costs. It’s $545.00 to register, $129.00 a night for t...

Grizzley G0771 - 1 reply

I have a Grizzley model G0771 table saw. I really need a zero clearance plate for it. I called Grizzley service dept. to order one. I was told that there isn’t one available for this model. The service tech said he did not know why Grizzley chose not to offer one to fit this model. I was told that I could shop around to see if I could fin...

Delta dust collector model 50 -850 - 5 replies

I have the Delta model 50 – 850 dust collector. I bought it used, and have had no trouble with it for much of the time I have owned it. However, now when I use it, very soon it blows the collector bags apart and dust blows EVERYWHERE until I get to the switch to turn it off. At first I thought that I was allowing the bottom bag to get too ...

My radial drill press - 1 reply

I have a Grizzly radial drill press, and because the head can be extended out in front and over the bench, I was worried that it might tip. So I bolted it down to the bench. Now I want to get the full length of my bench back, so I am thinking of removing the drill press and go to a mobil base. This would allow me to get some shop room back too. ...

Bessmyer Fence - 0 replies

I just bought a Grizzly table saw. I bought the G0771 Hybred model. I really do not like the included fence. I sold my last saw, (I bought it used and it came with a Bessmyer fence). I was looking online to buy a new Bessmyer fence, but along with the fence they are showing their guide rails. Will the guide rails that came with my G0771 work wit...
