I was looking online at a “see through the wall” stud finder. This one is called Walabug. It allows you using your android phone to see through the wall and will show the stud, steel pipe, or tube, electrical wires, and even movement such as critters in the wall. It cost $79.00. Have any of you used this thing?, and if so, what do you think of it? Is it worth the time and money?

I found the web page for a Walabot – it has just over 90% of the reviews giving it 4 or 5 stars. I looked through some of the reviews. Those with complaints seem to have more trouble with lath/plaster walls or concrete. Several mentioned issues with a complicated user interface and a bit of buggy behavior.

To me it looks like a lot of new technology products where something gets introduced and then new “features” are added over time. I don’t need one enough to buy one. I might keep track of this and see how it looks in a year or so…

On the other hand, a majority of users are quite happy with it as it is. I think it depends on how big your want/need is.
