Working With PEG 1000

I have obtained a number of CHERRY BURLS & want to turn some bowls. I have some PEG 1000. my ? is how to soak it & when will it be stable to turn???? I plan to seal the end grain & let them dry somewhat before I start. Any advice would be very helpful.

I have an old AEG belt sander, which needs a replacement part ( rear drive pully ). I’ve searched GOOGLE for hours and found the part and it’s number. That’s where the trail stops.
