I didn’t have as much time today but I continued with my gouge chisel to remove more wood from around my outline it’s really cool and the chisels are really enhancing my enjoyment of this discipline , basswood is like melting away like butter.

I also started using my “V” tool I believe it gets this term because of the veining profile it gives to the wood I’ll be using this a lot inside the pattern to define key features such as the feathers and add some 3rd dimensionality to the bird ….

Can’t wait to get more chisels I need some wider sweep chisels…..
