This blog series is going to cover (hopefully) my entire process of making a waxed-canvas tool roll for my chisels. The whole thing started simply enough: I wanted a decent canvas tool roll to give my chisels a nice home, keep them organized, and protect them. It turned out to be a bit more complicated. For starters, good tool rolls are expensive. And second, if you want to make your own, what type of fabric should you use, where can you buy it, and should you apply any type of water-resistant treatment? And what type of “tools” (sewing machine, anyone?) does a person need to make one of these?
After digging into a few of these questions, I figured I’d start a blog to keep track of my progress and share my results. I hope someone out there finds it useful.
