I live in a somewhat small townhouse/apartment, so space is pretty limited-especially for something like a table saw.

So i rent a small ‘workshop’, and by ‘workshop’....I mean a small 20×25 storage rental unit with a single electrical outlet and light. I try to make the best of what I have.

I’ve slowly been adding tools since I graduated a few years ago, but a still have a ways to go.

Welcome to LJ’s. Yes, it’s tight, but you can get some work done there. My rental unit is 11’ x 30’, and I curse about it daily.

Before I bought my house and never really had a place for a workshop I looked into renting a storage unit for a workshop. I discovered it’s hard to find a place that allows this for liability reasons. “Renting” a workshop definitely has its advantages, though.

Nice spacious shop! Sorry but I am constrained in an 18×20 garage shop and that shop you have just looks roomy by comparison!

By the way, what is that fence you have on the band saw? Looks nice…

You’ve made a good start. Keep it up and you’ll get there. For many years my workshop was an open carport with nothing but a roof on it. Welcome to Lumberjocks.

They fill up quickly. I think it makes one think about the design of any furniture a little more …
