« Part 2: Tried a cheap harbor freight sandblaster but it was a fail so I sent ends out! Part 3 of American flag bench series Part 4: Torched the slats then sanded them down to 320 grit. Stained the red stripes »

I bought a router/table combo from sears ($100) and a couple roundover bits ($15 each).

I rounded over the tops of all 13 slats then sanded them down.

Then I dryfit them using 1/4 inch nuts as spacers. Had to drill new holes because most of the boards didn’t line up with current ones.

Bought Ace hardware out of 1/4”x1.5” bolts nuts and washers for now (13). I’ll have to go back later for the rest. When all is said and done it will have cost me ($30)
