« Part 1: Turning a very old rusted bench into a patriotic showpiece Part 2 of American flag bench series Part 3: Bought a small craftsman router/table combo and a couple roundover bits. »

After my harbor freight fail.. I found a local guy who sandblasted and primed the ends. Cost: $75 but came out very nice.
I then sprayed them 3 coats of silver and 3 clear coats.
My next step was to choose a wood?

I planned this to be a very inexpensive project so after the expense of sandblasting I went with a very unpopular choice of poplar ($48).
