Professionally:
I'm a software engineer. I build geospatial information systems and applications [among others]. I have a background in mechanical engineering, fine arts, and architecture as well. Also, I have studied industrial psychology with a little bit of exposure to abnormal psychology.
About woodworking:
At home, I remodel and build furniture. I cast countertops and do concrete work, build outdoor structures, and any other tasks on a construction site (except roofing... it's too hot to do that). I also run a chainsaw mill to custom cut lumber for my projects. I do a lot of design work across many different disciplines and don't mind helping others finalize a design.
I am a mid-century modern guru. So, any furniture I build will most likely be in only this area or style.
Other things about me:
I play with high-performance cars and sportbikes. I build them and race them. I compete in SCCA Autocross when the cars are actually running.
I play a lot of sports in my spare time.
When I'm not doing any of those, I take a lot of time to experiment in photography. I take a lot of macro shots as well as urban landscape. I am probably better known for my sports shots mainly dealing with roller derby and softball.
Also I am very sarcastic and love to debate... so don't cry when I start to pick on you. I don't mean any harm by it. If you make a stance and I don't agree with it, I'll normally be sure to throw my point of view in. I like to use facts and clarify when I'm using opinion. So, like I say, don't take it personally.

Thank you everyone. Even though this is almost a canned welcoming response, not too many forums bother to even do this.
I have learned many things from your forum over the years and now hope to contribute as much as I can.
