I love working with wood. Passionate about it. My shop is very small but I know where everything is in it and it is functional for me. I've put together a few sticks here and there and am gradually getting better at it. These forums are great for me. All the folks are helpful and nice. I've taken a few semesters at Palomar College ... Cabinet and Furniture Technology CFT, and plan to continue. This Fall I hope to take "Decorative Box Making" and "Hand Tool Joinery". I belong to San Diego Fine Woodworkers Association (past 15 years) and enjoy the Design in Wood Exhibit each year at the Fair.
I'm a retired ('bout burned out) therapist and enjoy sharing the peaceful joys and gratification of giving wood a new life.
After 38 years in San Diego...I moved back to my home state of Texas...just south of Austin. Got here in February, '19, set up my shop (3 X larger than my old one), made a new shave horse & chopping block, added a shed...and I'm loving it!!

Thank you folks, for the warm welcome. I’ve found woodworkers to be among the finest people on earth. I belong to San Diego Fine Woodworkers Association which is among the largest in the country and have, also belonged to another forum for many years. I’m very happy to join in and, hopefully, be an asset to this group. Thank you for having me.
I found the forum while looking for a baby crib. I built a cradle for my grandaughter and now need to build a baby bed for my grandson.

Welcome to Lumberjocks. The projects are an inspiration, the information is priceless and the people are supportive. The only problem is, the site can get addictive.
God Bless
