Lumberjocks has had a few blogs listed in Google. I’ve mentioned that I am inspired by James Krenov. Searching for information about Mr. krenov I ran across Pitney and Ames who have been leading the way showing works of artisans that overlap in “form following function”. It’s what lead me here.

I’m discovering others. And many who are closer in what they think and do with wood to my excitment with it. Some are really sculpting in wood as they are sculptors, while others like Howard Werner, Hank Giliprin and the revered Mr. Krenov are letting the wood lead the way.

It’s pretty exciting to find these people, and others like people in Lumberjocks who think the same way.

For me I like to think and do and talk about wood. Moving into more “doing”. But I am looking for people who share not only the artisan nature but the passion of wood.

For me “studio Furniture” is a path for me to find my passion. How about you?

you should go to IP then. they teach “how jim did it”. and you can then call yourself Krenovian.
plus, you get to listen to hours of lectures and stories by the man himself. recorded for student benefit.

too many projects are Inspired by krenov, that use proportion, grain , and construction techniques completly contradictory to what he taught.
