Hello jocks, My buddy cut me out some custom arbor wrenches for my Unisaw. I was tired of tightening the blade with one wrench and a piece of wood. These are also longer than a standard arbor wrench to keep my carney hands from getting nicked. They are mild steel .180 thick and 13 ” total length . Let me know your thoughts. If there is...

Is profanity allowed on this forum? - 6 replies

Just need to know, I couldn’t find it in the forum rules. I’m wondering how a lumberjock member/donor can address someone else as an ’’A hole’’. I’m not against profanity, i use it every day, just not on a woodworking forum.

Cupping and splitting in slabs - 7 replies

Hello all, I just left my local wood supplier where they carry large slabs and dimensional rough sawn lumber. I noticed that all of the slabs were cupped pretty bad some over a 1” for a 24” wide slab. Most of the rough sawn dimensional hardwoods had deep wide cracks near the ends of the boards and were cupped too. I ask the gent...

Thoughts on construction grade lumber tables? - 6 replies

Hello Jocks, Earlier this summer I turned down the opportunity to make simple rustic tables for a thriving furniture store. The designs was super simple and consisted of all construction grade lumber from lowes. Screws showing, not even countersunk, boards mounted crown down, shoddy work in my opinion. I am no hardwood snob but with i knew the...

New Hitachi lazer 12" sliding miter saw - 1 reply

Hello all, I just returned from lowes and I gave the NEW hitachi lazer saw a look over and I was less than impressed. The slide on the saw I scrutinized was very rough and hard to slide, I bel...
