This past weekend I was invited to Metro Hardwoods in Independence MO to do a book signing. While I was there I had the pleasure of meeting and talking to a fellow LJ member David Clark. I enjoyed talking to him about woodworking in person versus email. He makes some very beautiful boxes.

I also had the opportunity to meet a lot of members of the Kansas City Woodworkers Guild and the Lee’s Summit Woodworkers Guild. There are so many talented woodworkers in the area and I want to Thank everyone for all your support and taking the time to come out and visit with me at Metro Hardwoods. I had so much fun and will remember this experience for a very long time

Here is a picture of Dave Clark and myself.

And here is Dave looking at my boxes to see if I’ve made any mistakes, lol

Nice to see you guys had such a great time. I would love to have seen those boxes in person and check for any mistakes :) I love your book and hope its not the last one you write.

I grey up in Independence from age 13 until I got transferred to St Louis. Thats where I started my woodworking.

It would have been nice to meet and greet.

What a great event to get to meet other wood workers and especially a fellow LJ. The online connection is a wonderful way to meet others, but it can’t replace meeting a real live person who has the same interests. It would be such a treat to meet you at our local Woodworker’s Guild! What a fun gathering and to see your boxes in person too!

Nice when Lumberjocks can come together. It looks like all of you enjoyed the meet. I hope you sold a lot of books Dennis. I have one on order which should be arriving shortly after Christmas. I’m looking forward to getting it.

Dennis/Patti, It was awesome meeting and spending some quality time with you during your time here in Kansas City. I admire your work, and it was really neat to talk about the boxes and be able to see them up close and personal. I trust all went smoothly during your stay and that you arrived home safe and sound. Again, I had a wonderful time with you, and look forward to the next time our paths cross. keep up the great work work, and have a Merry Christmas !

Dennis, your boxes are fabulous. I’m glad that you got to meet all of those woodworkers and I’m sure that seeing your work in person was a wonderful experience for them. I’m sure it must have been a wonderful experience for you as well.

Paul, It was really fun, The publisher has asked me to write two more books. So hopefully it will work out ok.

Karson, What a small world, It would have been great to finally meet you.

Hi Larry, Yes it was, Thank you.

a1Jim, Yes it is really nice when LJs can hook up. It would be nice to have a big convention somewhere.

Hi Meilie, I would bet that we will meet someday, And I am looking forward to that day. I would bet we would have a blast!!!

Mike, Thank you Sir for purchasing one of my books, it is a great feeling knowing that you will have one. I hope you like it.

Roger, Thank you very much!

Hi Dave, It was very nice to meet you in person, it’s funny how much we where laughing. There are a lot of woodworkers down there in KC and most of them have great personalities. On Saturday you should have seen Jeff dancing around to my music box playing. lol I’m looking forward to are next get together.

Charles, Thank you very much, It was a wonderful experience!

Hi HillbillyShooter, I hoping it does well, my biggest reward for me is if I can inspire any woodworker to become a better one, or learn a new woodworking skill. Thank you very much for your kind words.

Hi Joe, It’s great to here from you. No that is not my brother Dan, it is my wife’s brother in-law.

Grumpy, Thank you!
