Woodworking is definitely a sort of therapy for me, unfortunately more time is spent looking forward to and thinking about it than actual time in what is loosely defined as my "shop". When acquaintances hear I enjoy woodworking as a hobby they often ask "Oh! What sort of things do you make?" My usual truthful response is "sawdust".
My real job involves spending long hours on foodservice related engineering, design development, and document management, therefore it is not surprising that I can overthink even the simplest woodworking project. Nonetheless as crazy as it sounds even that is enjoyable to me.
I love precision, so it is often a challenge for me to "open up" a little and just let a project take me where it wants to go. For a stay between the lines kind of guy, that can be a real adventure!
I have lurked on the LJ site for quite a while enjoying the huge variety of opinions and and methods, all leading to such marvelous results. Bravo to all who contribute.

Welcome to Lumber Jocks! This is a great place to get – or give – advice about woodworking on the forums and the project posts are a wonderful source of new ideas. I look forward to seeing your projects and posts.
To get the most feedback on your projects, it’s best to only post 1 or 2 at a time. This way you will get feedback over several days and from a wide variety of members.
Please enjoy your membership.

Hi there,
Welcome to LumberJocks… I joined the site myself a few months ago and will give you fair warning, this site is VERY ADDICTIVE, VERY EDUCATIONAL, and VERY FUN…. so sit back, enjoy the ride and learn from the other LJ’s as they are a group of extremely talented people that are also very friendly…
Enjoy your time here on LJ and pass the word to any of your woodworking buddies about us…
