« Part 8: Undercarriage Part 9 of Forge table series Part 10: Wrapping it up »

Today was a fairly light day on the table. Sawed off the protruding wedges and tenons, sanded them smooth, filled a few holes with sawdust and CA, and then hit the table with a coat of BLO.

Tomorrow I’ll see if I can bend the diamond plate so it’ll fit over the top and figure out how to address the corners of it. Mostly a metal-working day tomorrow, rather than woodworking.

Table looks nice, and now finished woodworking and tomorrow’s metal smithing makes for a nice change of venues. Enjoy.

That way too nice a table for anything other than an afternoon’s coffee and scones.

Thanks, Peter. Haven’t had scones in quite a while, and the best ones in recent memory were in a little coffee shop in Elkhart, Kansas over a year ago.

Thanks!

Seems a bit small to put chairs around, Bandit. It’s about 18×24. Then again, maybe for tea and scones…
