« Part 3: Tools for woodturning - Purchased Rockler Full Size Carbide tools and Sorby SpindleMaster Part 4 of Woodturning series Part 5: First turning project completed »

Completed my first try on the lathe. Nothing as far as a project. Just testing the lathe and tools.
Considering I only have two tools at this point, it was quick and easy to try everything.
Looking forward to my first project next week. I’m creating a basic paper towel rack. Will post when done.
Since I have no idea what I’m doing, registered for the basic turning class at Woodcraft at the end of the month.
Heard from others that took the class that the guy who teaches the class does a good job.

Welcome to the wonderful world of wood-that-goes-round!

Don’t forget to bop on over to the Woodturners Forum on LJs. Lot of great folks and information to be found there.

Keep practicing….
