Welcome to Lumberjocks. The projects are an inspiration, the information is priceless and the people are supportive. The only problem is, the site can get addictive.

    God Bless

Thank you all for the warm welcome. I am just starting into the world of woodworking and so far am loving it. I have gotten into woodworking as a way of staying close to my boys as they start getting older. Having a shared hobby we can do indoors is going to be great living up here in the Pacific Northwest. I have spent the past week watching hours & hours of woodworking videos downloaded from various websites. I have found the "Woodworking University" to be the best.

I started off with only a router table, cordless drill, & circular saw & a small garage shop(where the misses likes to of all thing PARK her car). I have made a big start by picking up a used Shopsmith Mark V. Got a great deal on it & am picking it up this weekend. I am as giddy as I have been in quite some time. The great part is my boys ages 7 & 8 are as excited as I am!

So far we have made a couple of nice cutting boards. They were a nice easy start that helped us learn a few of the basics. Next up is getting our garage turned into a proper woodworking shop with plenty of storage & organization options. I having been eying this tool stand for weeks. I think it is going to be perfect for what we want to do. http://christophermerrill.net/ww/plans/UTS/Tool_Stand_1.html

So that's a bit about me. Thanks again for the warm welcome. I will be sure to post my work as it gets

Welcome to Lumber Jocks! This is a great place to get - or give - advice about woodworking on the forums and the project posts are a wonderful source of new ideas. I look forward to seeing your projects and posts.

To get the most feedback on your projects, it's best to only post 1 or 2 at a time. This way you will get feedback over several days and from a wide variety of members.

    Please enjoy your membership.
