Everyone that knows me knows I am a scroller at heart. In 2008 my wife bought me a Craftsman Scroll Saw for Christmas and I haven’t stopped since then. My Craftsman Scroll saw has provided me a learning experience from which I have learned the art of scrolling, met new friends and mad a couple of dollars. But most of all it has allowed me to give my friends and Family things I have made which have brought joy to them. As far as the learning experience goes,....I WILL NEVER BUY ANOTHER PIECE OF EQUIPMENT WITH THE WORD CRAFTSMAN ON IT! It has been in the shop 4 times within the last 2 months. But, I have come out on top!

I belong to the DFW Scrollers here in the Dallas / Ft. Worth area to which I am an officer. We have monthly meetings to discuss the promotion of scrolling around the area. We put on demonstrations and also raise money by donating our crafts to different organizations. Well, after our meeting last Saturday, a very nice lady named Faye approached me and said “I have an old scroll saw in my garage. It is need some work but you’re handy and I think you can fix it. If you want it, you can have it”. Well I followed her to her house. She opened the garage and my knees got weak! There stood a 24 inch Excalibur that looked to be almost un-used WITH A STAND! The “work” it needed was to redirect the puffer which I did with two fingers! She GAVE IT TO ME FOR NOTHING!!! I had to hug her! :-)

DAMN – if, by chance, you can’t find room in your garage/workshop I can pick it up and HAUL IT OFF.

I think your passion of making more crosses has just started from a gift from God. I still remember how thoughtful you are in giving such scrolled sewn crosses free and now the return is bigger as expected.
Be safe and keep it going.
God Bless,

Mike, You have been blessed. I’m sure she knows you will care for it as it should be, and do many good things with it. Thanks for sharing.

Great score! I just bought a cordless drill a month ago from craftsman and last weekend I am looking over the tag on it and I see “made in china” under the UPC. First buck knives and now craftsman. My Father must be rolling in his grave.

Anyway, I am on the anti-craftsman bandwagon. Again congrats on your saw.

Never heard of a scrollers guild having officers before.
that saw is one sweet score, be sure the lady gets something nice produced by it.(good karma)

Congrats Cozmo. Sounds like Faye had a great appreciation for your work and gave you the boost you needed. I had a 16 inch Craftsman and moved up to a Dewalt a few months ago. Pretty surreal experience isn’t it? When you no longer feel like you are riding a jack hammer when you make those cuts :)
