« Part 2: Phase II - Let the Milling Begin! Part 3 of Built-In Library Wall series Part 4: Project Wrap-Up »

How in the world did over 200 days pass by since my last entry?! Wow.

Yes – I’m still working on this project. Yes – the clients are still my very good friends (bless them!). Yes – I still look forward to Sundays in my “shop”.

The carcasses are done and have been hanging out in my (still unfinished) master closet. The base cabinet has been the focal point of the wall, so I have been diligent and careful in the milling and assembly of all the parts: solid maple face frame, top and the doors, which are maple and purpleheart. Ah, the doors. This is the project in a project!

I couldn’t just go with a simple design, no. I made each door with a maple frame, purpleheart muntins and four figured-maple raised panels. The rail muntin has a bow-tie shape, so even that isn’t straight-forward. SIGH I am finally in the sanding phase, so hope to pre-finish and assemble in the next few weeks. (I apologize for the shoddy photography)
