Columbia Station, Oh
United States

This is my 440 square foot shop I just completed. We recently moved to a new home which came with a detached outbuilding (one of the main reasons I bought the house lol). It was completely unfinished on the inside with the studs and ceiling rafters showing. I insulated and sheeted the walls. Top half with drywall and bottom half with natural wood bead board. Instead of mudding the seams I decided to go with pine stripping, mainly for looks. I added a ceiling and found some cheap fluorescent fixtures on CL. I equipped the shop with a General International table saw, Delta/Rockwell 6inch Jointer, DeWalt 735 planer, DeWalt miter saw, and a Porter Cable standing drill press. Also an assortment of hand tools, which many are still trying to find a home. I built a brand new assembly table measuring 6’x4’ along with a miter bench and an extended out feed table for the table saw. Dust collection is a Harbor Freight unit which is piped to all of my main tools and gets separated with a Thien baffle to a garbage can and then gets vented outside. So far it has progressed quite well and I am very satisfied. Still a lot to be done and will probably never be finished. Lol.

Nice Shop! I like the way you’ve set up your mitersaw under the wood storage. I had this in the cabinet shop I worked at, but now don’t, and miss it all the time. Now scraps & cutoffs hit the floor and my stock is kind of all over the place instead of on the rack. Proximity is key! Do you like your PC drill press? I don’t have a drill press, and am kind of disgusted at how cheap so many of the available models are.

Hey guys thanks for all the positive feedback! @ PPK I do like my PC drill press very much, especially given its low price comparatively. It does just about everything I need it too. The one thing I would change tho is the table. It is grooved so it tends to collect a lot of chips…. But nothing a shop made table can’t fix!
