I am new to woodworking. I intend to do decorative trims for very small to larger pieces. I just ordered a router and I am looking forward to participate in this awesome community! :)

I just ordered a Dewalt DW618PK. I’m new to routing and woodworking, very excited. Next, get a routing table! And some bits. And then, well, learn to use the tool … <g>

Welcome to LJ! We’re looking forward to seeing some great router projects soon! Perhaps a router table.

Thank you for all your welcomes! I feel a bit overwhelmed with all I have to learn in order to get started, but I found the right place to help me achieve what I want to accomplish. :)

Hi Christine,

Welcome to Lumberjocks. I’m relatively new myself and also found the amount of information somewhat overwhelming at first. What worked for me is to pick a project and I then learned the techniques and acquired the tools to build it. I relied heavily on LJs when I was stumped with a technique or couldn’t understand the instructions.

I was also embarrassed to ask some of my questions at first. (I got over it), so if there’s anything I can do, fell free!

-- No, I don't want to buy the pink hammer.

Have your say...
