Upper middle age (58) lol, as with other mediums that an artist might find interesting and useful, wood is on my list and has been for years. Never a serious woodworker, (likely, lack of confidence), I have created small simple projects, table, quilt rack, cut outs to paint, and done lots of repair. I also find hand carving very rewarding.

For a shop, I use our garage, the kitchen, the back porch, and any other place that I can get out of the heat, lay out pieces or let glue or paint dry. The stationary tools are in the garage. We have mostly Craftsman power tools. Table saw, compound miter saw 10", belt sander, 6" belt, bench top drill press, bench grinder, router in a table, and my beloved 11" band saw. As well as the usual hand held power tools; skill saw, sanders, etc.

I have a great respect and fascination with "the old way". In other words, not using power tools. I have an assortment of hand tools collected through the years, and though more time consuming, I seem to be more accurate. (I'm Working on my power tool accuracy) I enjoy the personality of wood and when wood working for pleasure, time isn't an issue for me.
