I am a 25 year old (26 in July) who has been around woodworking my entire life(my father is a woodworker and has built 98%of the furniture in the house, and makes custom baseball bats in his spare time), but avoided it at all cost until about three years ago..... That's when I caught the fever/plague/addiction/whatever you want to call it of woodworking. I truly started out of necessity, in college I was living with some guys and our coffee table randomly broke and could not be fixed. So with a corded drill, circular saw, $15 of 2X4's and rough pine fence, screws, and stain I built a new one that was sturdy, durable, and effective. Since then I have added a lot more tools to my collection, built a variety of things(from work benches, cabinets, shop accessories, ect.) and have worked for remodeling/cabinet companies gaining experience. After getting out of school in December I decided to go the most economic route and move in with my parents, so I could save up enough money to purchase a decent amount of land and build my own house(not to mention my father has an amazing shop, and tools, so mine are all in storage). In order to make money I have two jobs, my primary source of income comes from a hardwood company here in Waco, where I do a wide variety of things(run the planer, straight line rip, fill orders, take orders), and my second job is a custom furniture company which I own and am rebuilding my business in Waco steadily(plus the discount on hardwoods, plywoods, and hardware really helps boost my profits). All in all I am a younger guy still honing my craft and am lucky enough to have jobs that I love and am passionate about, and did I mention I am able to work with wood all day long and get paid for it?

Welcome Curtis. You have found the right place for woodworking. A great group of people willing to help. Looking forward to see your projects and comments. Work safe in the shop and don’t forget to use pushsticks.
