That was too short!! My favorite type of video. Too far away to visit so I really appreciate the views. I will check out their sites. You are one lucky woodworker and some nice projects also. There price list is from 2010. not great, but not too bad.

I will have to give it a shot next time i’m out that way. I live in Takoma Park MD, so NOVA is a bit of a drive, on the not so friendly DC beltway :)
I usually go to Exotic Lumber in Gaithersburg MD. He has a great selection, prices are a touch high. Good deals on shorts (6 foot) if you buy 30bf.

I buy from them a lot. They are great guys and if you don’t find what you are looking for, let them know. I picked up some 16/4 Poplar from them a few weeks ago. They have great prices and a good selection. They specialize in domestic hardwoods and even have reclaimed wood. Since they have their own mill and Kiln, you can get custom orders. Last time I was in there they had a good selection of walnut slabs and a number of maple burls as well.

Sorry Robert, I had planned on doing an interview type video with the owner but once I got there he kept getting calls and other customers. The prices have come down some since then.

I have heard of Exotic Lumber but they are a bit to far to go for me.

They have a ton of slabs for anybody who deals with slabs.

Brian, I stop by localwoods quite often on my way to and from my cabin in WV. They have a great selection of wood. Even my wife enjoys going in and looking, however that usually means another project for me. I have purchased a few walnut slabs for various projects.

they sold me 500 sqft of white oak flooring that was green, when confronted about it they gambled that it was not worth my time and money to sue and absolved themselves from any responsibility. I strongly urge anyone to reconsider using this company for anything other than fireplace kindling. there are many other companies in the area with more experience and much higher ethics. do yourself a favor and steer clear from local wood.
